key partners in the region and state provide resources and assistance.
Alliant Energy, the utility company that services both gas and electric service to DeWitt is an invaluable partner. Their representatives are willing to provide projected information, do an assessment for a company as well as meet with company representatives to project costs and identified needs for expansion into their service area.
Eastern Iowa Community College works with all local companies to provide specific training needs and assist in the location of qualified skilled employees. In addition to regular credit classes and programs, there is a large variety of short training workshops designed to fit specific employer needs. Staff will assist employers to access use of training funds to keep all employee skills updated.
The Iowa Department of Economic Development refers and assists communities to expand its employee base. Project managers work closely with communities from beginning to end to attract new companies to the State of Iowa. Communities can request and receive assistance in meeting the needs of companies in start up and expansion phases.
Prosperity Eastern Iowa is a regional group comprised of six counties in Eastern Iowa. By working together, regional economic development professionals can attract and maintain quality employers in the region. Through a group effort, more information and resources can be combined to work with new and current companies.
