Home to eight parks, DeWitt has beautiful areas for recreation, sports activities, and picnics. Activities for children, youth, and adults are frequently provided in an atmosphere that strives for community well being. Whether you prefer to compete on the field or watch from the sidelines, the DeWitt Parks and Recreation Department has year-round activities for everyone. Built in 1999, the DeWitt Aquatic Center is a $2.6 million facility which features zero depth entry, three slides, lilypads, basketball hoop and much more for the enjoyment of people all ages. Camping, biking and water recreation activities all are offered in or around DeWitt.

The Opera House Theatre shows new movie releases each night at some of Eastern Iowa's most affordable prices.

The Central Community Historical Museum in DeWitt also gives visitors a essence of the past with displays ranging from the Indian tribes and their tools, to Clinton County Genealogy and possessions of the pioneer families dating back into the middle of the 19th Century.

The Frances Banta Waggoner Community Library is a beautiful 7,500 sq. ft., $1 million facility. The library features thousands of volumes of books, newspapers, periodicals, video and music tapes, a large children's section, separate teen collection, computer access, and a meeting room which accommodates 40 people.
